After arriving in Chicago, we rode the roller coaster to our hotel. They call them shuttles here. If your child ever complains about wearing his/her seatbelt, Chicago would be a good place to visit! I think they have some sort of "morse code" horn beep system here. I haven't figured it out, but I think one long beep means watch out, 2 beeps mean I'm about to rear end you. Needless to say, walking is great!
After checking into the hotel, we decided to go walking around. The city is beautiful and very clean! It is huge! We walked down to the Navy Pier, which is only a few blocks from our hotel. We walked around for awhile and then took an Archictecture Boat Tour of the city. They buidings are amazing. I took tons of pictures, but I'm sure I won't remember which one was what. I realized that I'm way too obsessed with famous people. The tour guide would say, "This is a very popular building, built by ________, in the style of ____________." Then...all she had to add was..."....and you might remember this as the building that Ferris Bueller's dad worked at." and I'm clicking away like it's my first born child. We were able to tour the entire city via the boat. I think this would make a great 3rd grade field trip for my PVES peeps. Let's get on that!! : )

After the tour, we stopped off at the grocery store on the way home. Imagine an extremely fancy Whole Foods. It was called Fox and Odel. I've never shopped at a grocery story that had dimmed lighting. We were way underdressed to purchase some water! I was a little surprised we didn't get assigned a personal shopper....named Kitty or something to help us make our choices. Maybe next time!
Now to the good stuff. Our goal while in Chicago was to meet someone famous....even Oprah would do. Anyway, we noticed earlier that they were having a Clinton Global Initative conference in our hotel. We thought maybe...just maybe, he was here. Well, later on we were taking to the lady at the concierge desk, and who walks by??? BILL CLINTON!! I was like Molly..It's him. Of course, I did the only thing I knew and started following him...really closely! It was just us in the entry between the door and the lobby. I was so close, in fact, the secret service kindly asked me to back up. haha. I was nervous! I have a zillion pictures of the back of his head! He turned to smile, but did I take that picture? No. Nice, huh? Then he walked out into the crowd gathered outside of the hotel, and I got one picture of his face....on my phone....cause that is practical when my camera was in my purse. My brain wasn't thinking!!! He was very nice, and it was just exciting to see him so close up. I hope I meet someone else..I think I'm ready now. Maybe. Okay, probably not.

It's late, so we better go for now!
It was a very eventful day and we have to get up extremely early tomorrow.
Holly and Molly : )
One more thing:
Confession Time: Molly and I had two (or more!) blonde moments today. It's always great to make fun of yourself...right?!?
Holly: While on the plane, were were descending to the airport. We were kind of turning. Well, obviously, my perception was off, cause I was like...wow...look at those ships over there...they are huge. Molly, being as nice as she is, kindly pointed out they were clouds. I guess ships don't float in the air. In my defense, I thought we were turned more. My bad.
Molly: We were in the hotel room...about to leave for dinner and she looks out and says "Wow, it's windy!" Yes, Molly. Chicago is windy! Maybe they should call it the "Windy City." Hence, the title of our blog.
Sorry for any mistakes, typing this on my ipad!!
